|
The Reputed History:
The Historic
Karsten Inn is haunted by several ghosts including Mr. Karsten,
a young boy, and a former maid named "Agatha" who
haunts room 310
|
|
The
Investigation:
We visited the Historic Karsten Inn,
interviewed staff and guests, and spent the night in room
310.
|
The Reputed
Phenomena:
- It is said that a maid who used to live
and work there haunts the kitchen and third floor room where
she stayed, her name was Agatha.
-
She
opens and closes doors at night.
-
She
mischievously knocks over sugar bowls and salt
shakers to tease the kitchen staff.
-
She
materializes in the lobby or her room.
-
Guest
diaries frequently mention the toilet flushing or
water faucet turning on by itself.
|
- Many children have told their
parents about playing in the hallway with a little
boy. Most, upon seeing this portrait of
William Karsten the II, exclaimed, "That's
him!"
- The ghost of Mr. Karsten has
also been reported to haunt the inn.
- Ghosts will set the alarm clock
in the kitchen to go off at exactly midnight.
- The lights in the hallway will
flicker.
- Cold and hot spots.
- Unusual odors.
- Sounds of breaking glass in the
bar, sounds of a child running upstairs, sounds of a
flute being played, indecipherable whispering,
sounds of furniture moving in rooms, and sounds of a
woman crying on the second floor.

|
The
Investigation:
- The lights in
the hallway do flicker, but only when the soda machine
around the corner kicks in.
- The alarm
clock in the kitchen did go off at midnight while we were
there.
- We were able
to measure a cold spot in Agatha's room.
- We heard
tapping sounds coming from the floor within Agatha's room.
- At 3:00 a.m.
we were awakened by loud rapping noises which were recorded on tape.
