MARSHALLTOWN-  Creative  Retirement will start off the fall season with a ghostly journey, "Haunted Locations in Your Own Backyard."

The Fall Luncheon will be Thursday, Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The ghostly journey presented by Chad Lewis will take attendees to some of the most haunted places in Iowa.  It covers the entire state of Iowa from the Cursed Angel of Council Bluffs to the Hanging Ghost of Davenport.  From phantom creatures prowling the woods to graveyard apparitions located in citizens' own backyard.  No place in Iowa is without its own haunting.  There will be photos, case history, eyewitness accounts, ghost lore, and directions.

Lewis is a paranormal researcher for Unexplained Research.

He has co-authored, Iowa Road Guide to Haunted Locations, plus other books.

The book does mention the Marshalltown Riverside Cemetery chair legend story.

This luncheon will be an opportunity to learn more about Creative Retirement and the courses offered for fall.  Membership in Creative Retirement is open to anyone 50 and older.  The program year runs from October to September.

Registration is required by Sept. 10.
