Put on a zoot suit and follow in the footsteps of America's infamous gangsters as they turned Wisconsin into the land of crimes.

Chad Lewis will present "Wisconsin's Gangster Past" at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Horicon Public Library.

Lewis said his show will discuss deadly bank robberies, explosive shootouts, brutal murders, and daring kidnappings, and grisly locations where gangster history will never die.

"I am also looking for residents to come and share their gangster stories as well," Lewis said.

His forthcoming book is titled "The Wisconsin Road Guide to Gangster Hot Spots" and includes John Dillinger's bloody shootout with authorities; Baby Face Nelson's hide out where he mowed down innocent bystanders; favorite gangster hangouts where they danced the night away; Al Capone's spot where he disposed of his enemies and flew in his bootleg liquor; the Barker-Karpis gang spots where they ransacked towns, bribed police, and killed anyone in their way; and places in the state where townsfolk fought back and killed the robbers.

Lewis is an author, researcher, and lecturer on topics of the strange and unusual. He holds a master's of science degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
