MARSHFIELD - A pair of paranormal researchers will help explain the unexplained and sign their book on Saturday night.

Their book, "The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations," features nearly 100 of Wisconsin's most haunted places and provides readers with history from the site, photos, investigation details and directions, so people can experience the paranormal for themselves.

Authors Terry Fisk and Chad Lewis spent the last couple of years crisscrossing the state to research the book.

"There's a folklore (claiming) Wisconsin has more ghosts per mile than any other state," Fisk said.

"The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations" is available at the authors' Web site, unexplainedresearch.com, for $14.

Terry Fisk and Chad Lewis will be at Thimbleberry Books, 132 S. Central Ave. in Marshfield, for a book signing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Many of Wisconsin's hauntings are related to gangsters from the 1930s and American Indians, he said, adding that each region of the United States has variations on stories.

Besides ghosts, Fisk and Lewis also investigate UFOs, crop circles and sightings of Bigfoot, Fisk said. They investigated crop circles on a town of Wausau farm in late August. Initially, they found no evidence of paranormal activity.

While investigating, Fisk said the duo uses equipment such as video and still cameras, Geiger counters, motion detectors and laser thermal scanners to check for inexplicable cold spots.

Fisk's own interest in the field began five years ago when a photo of him behind a relative's grave showed a bluish-white mist rising from the ground.

Experts were unable to explain the image.
