Winter gets weird in Milwaukee on March 5 when "The Unexplained Conference" comes to town.

Billed as "Wisconsin's largest paranormal conference," the event, the first in a series, will include talks by:

Chad Lewis, a research specialist with the Mutual UFO Network and co-author of the book "Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations."

Lewis will deliver a slide show of real-life ghost cases and photos of allegedly haunted Wisconsin sites.

Linda Godfrey, author of "The Beast of Bray Road," will discuss the topic: "Do Werewolves Walk Among Us."

Terry Fisk, area investigator for the American Ghost Society, will look at the evolution of the Western concept of the afterlife.

Richard Hendricks, a paranormal investigator and creator of the Weird Wisconsin Web site www.weird-wi.com, will talk about inexplicable events in our state, from rains of worms to freak darkness.

The conference will be at The Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 790 N. Van Buren St., Milwaukee. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. conference. Tickets are $10 at the door. Call (414) 276-4744 or (800) 782-1063 Ext 209.
